Style

This is my personal colour ideas for Justin's drawings. These are his drawings, but also the basic style that we've settled on. There is something that bothers me about the hungry goblin, so I will see if I can do an alternate copy in the same style.
I really like the design of the floating head.

These are some real pencil, in lots of different styles. I actually quite like some of these.

These are some hungry Goblin designs. I don't really like any of them, except maybe the one with the big under jaw. And no, I didn't make the lines as bold as our style, but it's just a sketch.

Retro...images

Just to try it out...

I don't know how often my group checks my page. But there are some pages of Retro styles, just to see if I can inspire anyone. http://www.scribd.com/doc/11459584/Retro-Cartoon-114 Thanks Neil!

Fairy

I think these are the last of my images, which I have found very difficult to get onto the computer until now.

These are the good and bad version of the fairy. Although, I think we are not going to keep this evil version.

I was playing with how old the Cursed man (Endy) would be. My first sketch was actually him in the time before sophistication, like Adam and Eve, but then I decided that a little bit more modern (knight) would make him more appealing. The Knight in shining armour.

Original sketches

This was one of my original ideas for "Not Dennis". Since he lives with so many birds, his hair and clothes are covered with bird poo. The bird is a girl who was recently turned into a bird, she is reaching back for her love. The goblin really wants to eat the bird, but the bird man was faster. The poor man is unable to do anything, all he notices is that someone has come and taken his bird away, and so thinks that must be a bad guy.

This is one of the forest creatures, who although is a giant toad, blends well with the environment. So it can come as quite a shock to someone who mistook it for a comfortable seat.

This started out as a rough sketch, but turned into one of my favourite drawings. I don't think we are going to stick with this drawing, but I really like it.

Research

A night time sketch.

Some idea sketches

This a sketch I did of the Brisbane river. Just some observational drawings.

I was researching some flowers to see if there were any real ones were anything like the flower we wanted. On my short search I think the best flower is the one above, the "amaryllis".

This is a picture of a building I spotted across the river. I thought it was a good idea for the castle.

These pictures were inside "A Third Poetry Book". The first one was from the poem "Legend". And the second one from the poem "the haunted lift". I thought these might be some inspiration to my group.

These are some really old sketches I did in class, with the idea of lighting in mind.
Some good ideas I've seen. Quality doesn't matter, it's the idea:
